February 2, 1968 - The first six missionaries to serve in Thailand arrive from Hong Kong in the company of President Keith E. Garner, president of the Southern Far East Asia mission.

All of these missionaries were serving in Taiwan except for Elder Hess who had been serving in Hong Kong. Of these six missionaries Elder Hess was the most senior.
